Is Yahoo! Search a browser hijacker?

Yahoo! Search, according to the article Browser Hijackers, list Yahoo! Search as a possible hijacker. This forum is created to resolve the conflict about Yahoo! Search's categorization.

I think that Yahoo! Search is just like any other Search Engine. Why, Buckyfan99, do you think that Yahoo! Search is a hijacker? I'm curious.

Yeah, that might be an illegitimate URL, but it was probably just some copycat trying to make a profit. After all, any search engine can be hijacked.

Problem is, it looked and was EXACTLY LIKE Yahoo! It was horrifying!

Did it remind you that the search engine would be changed? I'm pretty sure Yahoo would at least give you a warning. Btw, typing from Nook again. At school, but over the weekend I will contribute as much as I can.

Okay, just got back. So Yahoo! Search hijacked you. Did it harm your computer or browser in any way? (Sorry I keep asking so many questions, I just need to settle this...case, if you will).

No, I was not told that Yahoo! Search would be my browser.

So, it did not harm your computer then? (Like I said, trying to settle this 'court case, if you will.

No. But it hijacked my browser.

However, you may be right about it being a copy. It was made by (Sigot Inc. I think), not Yahoo! or any of the related.

Maybe we could make a fake section. (i.e regular browsers, but copied for malicous purposes)

Then it's settled then? We can reach an agreement?

Yes, we have reached an agreement. Yahoo! Search will be listed as a fake.
