Browser hijackers are search engines that are often bundled with freeware and shareware downloads on the Internet. A browser hijacker's purpose is usually to change the user's default search engine (e.g. change google.com to search.conduit.com), in an attempt to generate revenue.

Possible Hijackers[]
There are currently no possible hijackers under discussion. If you think a major search engine (e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo! Search, etc.) has hijacked you, post it on the Possible Browser Hijackers board of the Searchengines Wiki Forums.
Protecting yourself from browser hijackers[]
Here are some helpful tips to avoid being a victim of a browser hijacker like Delta Search:
- A typical scam is an advertisement with the text "Your browser is out of date!", which persuades the user to click the ad, thus launching the hijacker/malware.
- Do not download software from unknown publishers unless you have a very good reason to do so.
- Never visit a site you think is suspicious.
- Always have antivirus software installed and keep it up-to-date.
